Full Description

A listed former house, converted to Fever Hospital, now closed. It dates from the mid 18th century and was altered in the early 19th and 20th centuries. It is whitewashed brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof with brick coped tumbled gables with moulded kneeler to the rear and two brick gable stacks, one rebuilt in the 20th century. For the full description and the legal address of this former listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The site of the fever hospital with one of the buildings called White House (which presumably gives its name to White House Lane) is marked on the 1888 OS map and on the 1905 map. {2}{3} The buildings on the site had been demolished by January 2013. One of the buildings had been listed but was removed from the list in 2013. {4}
