Full Description

This chapel was built in 1907 to designs by Mr Thompson of Louth. It replaced an earlier chapel which became a Sunday School (see PRN 47246). The building is now used for commercial purposes and the chapel services have returned to the earlier building. It is considered to be of townscape value by the Conservation Area Appraisal. {1} The building was surveyed as part of a survey of nonconformist chapels in East Lindsey District. It was built in 1907 at a cost of c.£4000, with seating for 425. It is of red brick with a gabled roof, and has a stone string course incorporating hood mouldings. The building has a bell tower with a spire, and features tracery in the feature window and ocular window on the side elevation. The building was sold into private ownership in the 1990s and is now in use as a shop. {2}
