Full Description

A post medieval farmstead which was originally a small holding of 20 to 30 acres. The farmstead consists of a two storey farmhouse built of red brick dating from the early to mid 19th century. It was altered internally c.1900 and again in the mid 20th century. Adjoining the farmhouse is a single storey range consisting of a lobby, kitchen, bathroom and store and a ruined wash house and adjoining this, is a dairy and milking parlour. All were constructed of red brick in the 19th century. At some point the range buildings had been converted from agricultural use to domestic use. A cow byre and two pigsties are also present, built in the mid 19th century and a cartshed, built between 1900 and 1925. Farming continued on site until 1946 and the house was occupied until 1976. The range, wash house, dairy and milking parlour are due to be demolished [2008]. {1}{2}
