Full Description

13933 The former Primitive Methodist chapel is now in use as a house. Documentary sources suggest the original chapel was constructed in 1838 but the date stone in the gable has a date of 1875. It is unclear whether the present building represents the earlier chapel with later alterations or a rebuild of the earlier building. The building has 3 bays of tall round headed windows separated by pilasters on the south-west elevation. There are 2 flat-headed windows in the side elevation of the annexe. An internal floor has been inserted. The building has been recently renovated and is now uninhabited and for sale (March 2008). One ridge tile and several pantiles are missing. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5} Thompson records a Sunday School in 1838 and this may be represented by the adjoining annexe. {5}
