Full Description

Vicarage, built c. 1800 and constructed of coursed limestone rubble and ashlar with hipped slate roof. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} The village Free School, which had formerly been held in the church (see PRN 33756), was moved to the rectory in 1826 by the schoolmaster at the time, Mr C.E. Welbourne. At this time it was decided to also admit fee-paying boys, and the schoolmaster built at his own expense a school room and dwelling for them. These buildings are now used as the rectory garage. The school had only 3 pupils by 1853, and closed in 1856. {3}
