13th-15th century parish church, restored in 1886-7, south aisle added in 1886. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}
A decorated Anglo-Saxon (late 10th or early 11th century) grave-marker is re-used as a bracket to the north of the north aisle east window and was presumably set there when the wall was built in the 14th century. It is a complete or near complete rectangular marker decorated on both faces with incised decoration, although two-thirds of it is buried within the wall. {4}
The church and its incumbents from the medieval period to the 19th century are discussed by Trollope. {6}
