Full Description

Formerly the Bristol Arms Hotel. Late Georgian. Three storeys in ashlar with chamfered rusticated quoins. Band between 1st and top storeys. Five windows, bolection moulded frames in stone, only top storey centre window, which has segmental head and keystone, retains later glazing bars. Small pediment in centre with semi-circular glazed window in tympanum. Embattled parapet. Ground floor now all modern, with centre flat-arched entry. Stacks at gable ends. Now a shopping arcade. Tablet down passage to east advertising Post Horses and Carriages for hire, 19th century, resembling tombstone with cherub's mask.
