Full Description

PRN 64506 A 17th century barn, altered in the 19th and 20th century. Constructed in coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, plain tiled roof. Single storey with a four bay front. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The barn was incorporated into a later planned (model) farm buildings at Manor Farm, Walcot near Folkingham (PRN 65204).{2} A building survey was undertaken in May 1993 of Manor Farm, Walcot. Manor Farm is comprised of two complexes, one at TF 0595 3508 and the other Top Farm, at TF 0543 3520 [PRN 65784]. This site consists of a late 18th century stone barn. The second phase of construction consists of a bull pen, loose boxes, calf pens, gig house, stable, cow shed, cake store, cartshed, implement store, shelter sheds, pigsty and poultry house all designed in the 1880s, according to the architects plan. The cartshed and implement store are now demolished. {3}
