Full Description
PRN 34491
During fieldwalking, a surface scatter of Romano-British pottery (including Samian), briquetage, fired clay (including flat, shelly pieces), burnt stone, animal bone and shell was seen within dark soilmarks on the north levee of the Roman Bourne-Morton canal (PRN 33259). The briquetage suggests a salt working site, and a late Iron Age and/or Romano-British industrial site is also possible. As well as the soilmarks, peaty lines were visible in the silt. {1}
