A large surface scatter of Romano-British material was observed during fieldwalking. This included a wide spread of pottery (including Samian) along with some tile, fired clay, burnt stone, quern and animal bone. Briquetage was also seen on a mounded area with a dark soilmark. Further soilmarks were seen elsewhere within this site. The briquetage indicates salt making at the site. {1}
