PRN 70503 A trial trench on land south of the Tap and Spile public house revealed several pits containing 15th-16th century and 13th century pottery. The absence of 14th century material may be significant, and may indicate landscaping of earlier deposits or a hiatus of activity during the 14th century. {1}{2}
