Full Description

PRN 13851 Designed by John Rennie as part of his fen drainage scheme and built in 1806 to 1807 where the Maud Foster drain entered the tidal Witham. The contracter was John Pinkerton. The upstream sluice gates were modernised and mechanised in 1985. {1} The sluice on the Maud Foster Drain which was built in 1807 by John Rennie and underwent minor alterations in the 20th century. It was constructed of gritstone ashlar, iron and wood.
