Full Description
PRN 55298
A collection of post-medieval kiln waste was discovered during field walking around the Fiskerton causeway site. This material is concentrated immediately to the south-west of Fiskerton village with a further scatter of material tailing to the south. The finds include broken pottery and tiles, many of which exhibit typical 'kiln waster' features such as distortion, over-firing, flaking, sherds adhering to each other and glaze-covered breaks. The tile fragments appear to have been part of the kiln rather than products of it. {1}
