Full Description

PRN 36709 A programme of historic building recording comprising photographic survey was undertaken at Eastfield Barns, Freiston Road, prior to their conversion to residential dwellings. The recorded barns broadly form a U-shaped arrangement of farm outbuildings. During the recording of the farm buildings at least four phases of development were noted, all in the 19th century. Cartographic evidence indicates the western and northern sections were built about 1850, and the complex was fully in existence by 1891.{1}{2} The Granary, Hough-on-the-Hill. Extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with multiple regular yards. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. Located within or in association with a village. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {3}
