Cottage. Late 16th century with 18th century addition and 20th century alterations. Mud and stud, underbuilt in part in brick, painted, with half hipped thatched roof having decorative ridge and single axial brick stack. In the 19th and 20th centuries the cottage was used as a bakehouse and as the village store. The bakehouse was located in an 18th century extension which was later converted into a bathroom. The southern façade of the cottage has just one door, there is a shadow imprint of a former door in the east end of the façade which would have provided access to the post-office part of the cottage. The eastern window has extended to where the former doorway would have been. {2}
