PRN 63910 This record is for the stable block only. For a history of Ashby Hall and its surrounding gardens, see PRN64076 A stable block, built in 1836 and constructed in coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, fishscale tile roofs, with moulded coped gables and kneelers. There is a single external gable chimney with a pair of square moulded ashlar stacks, and a single gable chimney with an octagonal white brick stack. The building is quadrangle in plan and is single storey plus attic. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest.{1} To the north of Ashby Hall is a 19th century Tudor Gothic Stable Block around a courtyard.{2} Aerial photograph depicting the stable block to the north of Ashby Hall (PRN 62806) and associated hexagonal walled garden (PRN 63912).{3} A series of photographs and reconstruction drawings of the hall (including the stable block) form part of a recent historical study of the village of Ashby de la Launde.{6}
