Full Description
An archaeological watching brief and subsequent excavation along the route of the Silk Willoughby to Staythorpe Gas Pipeline recorded four Romano-British ditches, thought to be the remains of enclosures or field boundaries. Two of the ditches produced pottery dating to between the 2nd and 4th century. {1}{2}
Likely related to the extensive cropmarks of probable Romano-British date identified immediately to the north (see MLI127347).
