Full Description

PRN 63662 153 trial trenches were excavated on the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. A pit and 2 ditches which maybe part of a field system, all which contained medieval pottery dating to the 13th to 15th centurys, were uncovered. Further unstratified tile and pottery of the same date was recovered. {1}{2} Fieldwalking was undertaken on the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. 16 sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from this field. They mainly comprised of Lincoln Glazed Ware. {3}{4} Medieval potery and ceramic building material was recovered during fieldwalking along the route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass by Archaeological Project Services in November 2008. {5}{6} In March/April 2006, fieldwalking of two proposed road routes to the south of Lincoln was undertaken by Birmingham University Archaeological Unit. Thirteen 13th to 14th century, one 14th century and two medieval pottery sherds, found in Field 2. {7}{8}
