Full Description

PRN 63641 153 trial trenches were excavated on the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. In trench 46 an undated pit, ditch and gully were uncovered. The gully was stratigraphically earlier than the ditch. Trench 48 revealed an undated ditch, Trench 51 revealed a ditch or holloway which was undated. Trench 52 contained an undated gully. Trench 53 revealed an undated ditch with contained animal bone. Trench 55 a post hole and gully both undated as well as a row of undated post holes. Trench 56 contained an undated ditch. {1}{2} A geophysical survey was undertaken in 2006 along the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass (Route B). A strong magnetic response was identified at PRN 63641a, which was interpreted as a possible building or structure. The area also had a negative trend suggesting the location of walls. The possible structure is undated. {1}{2}
