The Navigation Warehouse was assessed by English Heritage in May 2013, as part of the Louth Defined Area Survey, resulting in an amendment to its List Entry Description. Formerly known as the 'Warehouse at the Junction of Riverhead and Riverhead Road', Navigation Warehouse was built c.1790 following the completion of the canal in 1770. It would originally have been used to store a range of local produce, primarily wool and grain, and imported goods, including coal, fruit and vegetables, whilst transport up and down the canal was arranged. The building is of three storeys, 5 bays and of rectangular plan. It is built of red brick, with a pantile roof and raised coped gables. Dentilled brick eaves extend along both the canal side and the road side elevations. The building has been converted to use as offices.
