Full Description

Early nineteenth century building, two storeys high with a basement and hipped slate roofs. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} Additional reference. {2} 250-252 Eastgate are a pair of semi-detached villas, built in 1826, with minor alterations in the 20th century. They are of red brick, generally laid in Flemish bond, with stucco details and Welsh slate covering to the roofs. They have a symmetrical plan with a central projecting bay to the facade of each dwelling and a piano nobile arrangement with polite rooms on the ground and first floors, and the kitchen and service range in the semi-basement. Both villas have two storeys and a basement; no. 250 has an attic space at the rear. They share a hipped roof with oversailing bracketed eaves and a central stack; both have additional end stacks.
