Full Description
63299
A Wesleyan Methodist Chapel is mentioned in White's Directory of 1856. There is no further information, and may have been on the site of the chapel which was built in 1887. {1}{2}
The Census of Religious Returns mentions that a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel was built in Wellingore in 1827. Other documentary evidence suggests that a chapel, which was on the site of the surviving former chapel built in 1887, was probably built by Primitive Methodists in 1837 and sold to Wesleyan Methodists about 1842. The Wesleyan chapel built in 1827 may therefore have been on another unlocated site.{3}{4}
