A late 18th century farmhouse, with 19th century additions. Constructed from coursed yellow limestone rubble with red brick dressings and a red brick, pantile roof. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The farmhouse was included in a programme of building survey, conducted in December 2003, prior to the proposed conversion and redevelopment of many of the farm buildings to domestic dwellings. The farmhouse is a three-storey structure, although only the ground floor was inspected as the stairways were unsafe at the time of survey. The house is laid out to a two bay plan, with rooms on each floor entered from a central entrance hall or stairway. The internal walls were rendered with a similar lime mortar to that used to bond the limestone rubble walls. The windows in the first two storeys were all set into the south wall, whilst single windows are in the gable ends in the attic rooms. A number of further blocked door and window openings were noted. The tops of the two longer walls were of brick, comprising three courses in laid in dentition bond serving as a kneeler on which the lower roof timbers rest, and with tumbling-in exhibited at the gable ends. Sometime in the mid to late 19th century, a two-storey extension was added, and the propoerty was divided into two flats. A small brick outbuilding was also added to the south-east corner of the building at this time. {2}
