Full Description

63122 It is suggested that there may have been a senior pre-Conquest church at Boothby Graffoe. This is due to the place-name evidence, probably because Boothby is also the name of the Wapentake in which it was located at that time. {1} A church and a priest, with one carucate of land are mentioned in the Domesday Book. {2} The present church is an 1842 rebuild, in Gothic style, of an earlier church. It is constrcuted of coursed rubble and ashlar and slate roofs.
