An archaeological evaluation (trial trenching) was undertaken on land at North Road, Gedney Hill. The evaluation identified two large and undated drainage ditches (but are probably of post-medieval to modern date) and an undated pit. {1}{2} See PRN 20524
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land at North View Lakes, North Road, Gedney Hill in advance of a new wildlife area and conservation lake. The work located two undated ditches with similar profiles and fills, which suggested that they may have been contemporary or shared a common function. The high incidence of decaying organic material in their respective fills suggested that their original; function may have been as field hedgerow boundaries. The lines of these ditches, however, did not appear to respect the line of linear features identified in the previous archaeological assessment.{3}{4}
