Full Description

PRN 45490 Tower mill; stump remained in 1930's, gone by early 1970's. {1} This mill may be the Witham Marsh Mill which is unlocated but documented to have possibly existed in Frithville. The mill was in operation in 1850 when large amounts of grain were brought into the mill and recorded in the petty cash books. Barley and wheat predominate in the grains. Flour was sold from the mill but does not appear to have been its main export. {2} A Windmill (Corn) is recorded on the c.1905 Ordnance Survey map at this location. {3}
