Full Description

An archaeological survey was undertaken to appraise the archaeological resource of lands forming part of the Brocklesby Estate, as part of a wider Heritage Landscape Management Plan. The survey comprised field observations and rapid fieldwalking (on a non-collecting basis) as part of a desk-top assessment, and identified the remains of three concrete pads, each approximately 20m by 10m. Local tradition has it that the military used to repair trucks in this area during the Second World War, and it is thought that these pads represent the sites of former military workshops. {1}
