Full Description

Cropmarks of a boundary feature of unknown date to the west of Swaby, identified on aerial photographs by the National Mapping Programme. {1} Part of a large ditched enclosure was identified to the immediate west of the previously identified boundary feature in October 2011, during magnetometry survey along selected parts of the proposed Covenham Water Treatment Works to Boston Transfer pipeline. The remains were identified as curvilinear magnetic anomalies, forming a roughly elliptical enclosure. Other adjacent magnetic anomalies were also recorded, likely indicating the remains of other boundary and possible pit features. {2}
