PRN 23842
Archaeological evaluation (trial trenching) on land at Woolram Wygate identified the presence of a number of brackish creeks or palaeo-channels flowing across the site, generally in an east to west direction and probably feeding into a large prehistoric river located between Woolram Wygate and Pinchbeck Road. Late Iron Age and early Romano-British salt-making would have been concentrated on the banks of these brackish creeks (PRN 23832 and 23833). {1} {2}
