Full Description

Cropmarks of a probable Second World War searchlight battery, at Red Hill, Goulceby. Visible as two circular probable searchlight emplacements, measuring roughly 7m and 5m in diamater. Associated with these emplacements is a polygonal enclosure to the north, which measures 85m by 50m. This larger enclosure contains three conjoined rectangular features, each with average measurements of 8m by 4m. Identified on aerial photography examined as part of the National Mapping Programme. A further rectilinear enclosure to the south may be associated, although this relationship remains uncertain (see MLI84912). {1}
