Full Description

PRN 13654 A group of pits and ditches, with finds ranging from the 12th to 15th centuries, found during trial trenching carried out between the 4th and 10th March 2003. {1} {2} Trench 2 - two northwest-southeast aligned ditches, both containing pottery dating to 13th to 15th century. The ditches may possibly be drainage or boundary ditches {1} {2}. Trench 3 - at the southwestern end of the trench lay two pits (much truncated by later intrusion). One of the pits contained a fragment of 13th to 15th century Toyton ware. Trench 6 - a steep sided pit with two fills, one of which contained an assortment of pottery dating between the late 7th to 15th century. The function of the pits is unknown {1} {2}
