Full Description

Originally a private house built c.1730, with alterations from the 20th century. The building was converted into a café at some point in the early 20th century, and was later converted to use as a branch of the Midland Bank in the 1970s (the Midland Bank had previously occupied 27 Market Place - see MLI83792). It is now in use as a restaurant. It is constructed of ashlar stone, and features a concrete plain tiled roof and two ashlar gable chimney stacks. The building is of two storeys plus attics, and has a four-bay front with plinth, platt band, first floor cill band, modillion and dentillated eaves cornice. The 20th century panelled door has to the right a single and to the left three fixed 20th century lights. To the first floor are four plain sashes with moulded stone architraves and raised stepped keyblocks. In the roof are two gabled dormers with two light casements and rendered cheeks.
