St Botolph's has a tower arch with a Norman shaft, an Early English shaft and a pointed arch, possibly rebuilt from pieces of the old chancel arch during restoration by Kirk and Parry in 1865-66. Otherwise, the tower is Early English with a Perpendicular bell-stage. The south chapel dates to the late 13th century, and the chancel dates to about 1300, while the chancel arch and south aisle date to the restoration. The north aisle and north doorway are Decorated, though it is uncertain whether the north arcade is Decorated also. {1}
St Botolph's is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and ashlar with slate and lead roofs. The tower is of four stages with a plain parapet. The north and south arcades are both of three bays. The south chapel has a piscina and squint, while the chancel has a double piscina.
