Full Description

Several undated features were recorded in this area in May 2001, during archaeological monitoring of residential development on land at Hanthorpe Road, Morton. The features comprised three ditches, a post hole, a pit, a stone-lined well and a cobbled surface. Although no dating material was recovered during the monitoring, it was thought likely that the features related to the former use of the site as a farm. {1}{2} An additional undated post hole was recorded in this area in February 2012, during trial trenching on land at Bourne Road, Morton. The isolated nature of the feature and lack of dating material makes further interpretation difficult. {3}{4}
