The garden temple known originally as the Temple to Pitt, and later as The Little Temple, is located at Coleby Hall. It was built in c.1770 in memory of the Earl of Chatham, and was designed by Sir Thomas Scrope, an amateur architect. It is constructed of wood and plaster, originally with a lead cover saucer dome now gone. It is circular and half open with four Roman Doric columns supporting entablature with bucranium and patera frieze and a stone floor. It was a listed building, but it was delisted in 02/06/1999. {1}{2}
