An old terrier of 1703 mentions a parsonage which stood in the Rector's yard, immediately to the south of the churchyard. It was a house of six bays with a great barn and stables of five bays each. The Rector, John Sedgwick and Peniston Booth, his curate and successor were neither of them resident, and these buildings gradually fell into ruin. {1}
