Full Description
This record was formerly given the PRN 80010.
During trial trenching, hammerscale and iron working slag were recovered indicating that there is an iron-working site in the vicinity. Radiocarbon dating on charcoal deposits found in an environmental sample, which also contained hammerscale and iron slag, has been calibrated to 790-390 BC, making this site an early ironworking site of some importance.{1}{2}{3}
