61477 A war memorial was erected 10m north of All Saints' Church in about 1920. It is of Portland stone with a lead fishscale tile roof. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} Located in the churchyard of All Saints' Church, the Canwick war memorial is a Portland stone baldaquin with an ornately carved quadruple gabled roof, standing twelve feet (four metres) high. The centrepiece is a fifteenth century Italian wrought iron shrine discovered in London. An ivory crucifix is fixed upon it. A gilded figure in wood, suspended from the centre on wrought iron brackets, represents the resurrection. The names of the First World War fallen are carved in raised lettering on the back panel. The memorial was unveiled in 1919. {3}
