Full Description
PRN 61457
A scheme of trial trenching was undertaken in an area where cropmarks had been observed on aerial photographs. It had been suggested in the Environmental Statement that these cropmarks might be geological or geomorphological in origin. This suggestion appears to have been borne out by the trial trenching, as most of these features did not show up at all in the gravel/topsoil interface region. A 'ditch', thought to be geological, may correspond to a rectilinear cropmark shown on aerial photographs.{1}{2}
