A Roman pottery scatter was identified in Field 40, north of Wellsykes Lane. The majority of finds appear to have come from the north eastern end of the field, and consists mainly of grey ware, but also includes 2 sherds of Samian ware, 4 sherds of colour-coated ware, 2 sherds of possible mortaria, and 4 flanged bowl rims. {1}
