Full Description

PRN 35286 A large post-medieval pit discovered during an archaeological evaluation in early 2000 was considered to have been opened and backfilled in a short period of time. The feature contained pottery dating to between the mid-15th to 18th century. It is suggested that this was a clay extraction pit, given Bourne's known importance as a pottery producing centre.{1}{2}{3}
