Full Description

A likely later Anglo-Saxon polished glass bead was found in 1948, during gardening at The Meadows, Skellingthorpe. It is an uncommon type of polished glass bead, with an unusually large central piercing. It is very similar to one found in Cornwall which was dated to 872-875 AD from associated coins.
