Monument record MLI70179 - Possible ring ditch south of Bunkers Hill
Summary
Possible ring ditch south of Bunkers Hill
Type and Period (1)
- RING DITCH (Later Prehistoric - 4000 BC to 42 AD)
Protected Status/Designation
- None recorded
Full Description
PRN 70179
A ring-form was identified during a geophysical survey on land south of Bunker's Hill. It is suggested that it is earlier than the adjacent triple linear ditch (50348) because the triple linear ditch may have deliberately avoided it. The absence of associated finds and relatively low magnetic reading of the feature also lend weight to this theory.{1}{2}
