Full Description

A rectangular area, approximately 50 yards square, defined by a wet moat, 12-15ft wide and 10ft deep. The inner side rises 10ft above the moat. The interior is covered by rough scrub. {1}{2}{3} The moat presumably marks the site of a former manor house, but it has not been identified with any degree of certainty. It has been suggested that it may have belonged to the Durvye family, although this is conjectural. {4} Earthworks to the north of this site have been interpreted as the remains of a medieval garden (see PRN 62687), possibly associated with the former conjectured manor house. {5}
