Full Description

PRN 60629 A landscape park with some formal features. The hall was designed in 1843. The park has platations or belts of trees round most of the boundaries, whilst in the estate there is mostly open ground with scattered trees. There is a formal garden on the east side of the hall.{1}, AREA 100HA The park is lush, with lawns sloping down to a lake.{2} An icehouse at TF02874596 and a walled garden at TF03084555 are depicted on the Ordnance Survey County series map of 1905. Both structures are associated with the Hall at South Rauceby.{3} Landscape park to Rauceby Hall, a country house constructed 1842-43. The grounds cover an area of 50 hectares and were laid out during the early 1840s. Later features include a sunken garden constructed in the late 1940s/early 1950s.{4} From 1874 to 1880 the Park received a new lake and bridge, new vineries and a 'ha-ha'. At the same time the New Lodge was built on a grand scale, costing more than £2000.{5}
