PRN 54241 DURING AN EVALUATION AT CHURCH FARM, IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE SITE, LATE SAXON DEPOSITS WERE ENCOUNTERED, BUT NO DISTINCT FEATURES WERE OBSERVED. IN THE SOUTH WEST PART OF THE SITE LATE SAXON POTTERY FROM POSSIBLE PLOUGHED SUBSOIL INDICATES THAT THERE WAS EARLY ACTIVITY ON THE SITE, BUT IT MAY SIMPLY BE IN THE FORM OF MANURING OF FIELDS. {1} {2} A watching brief was undertaken during groundworks at Church Farm, High Street, Fillingham prior to development. Two Saxon gullies were identified in the north-east corner of the site. Other features which were possibly of a simular date were not excavated. {3} {4}
