Full Description

A TYPICAL SHRUNKEN VILLAGE SITE WITH A NETWORK OF SUNKEN ROADS WITH RECTANGULAR ENCLOSURES IN BETWEEN. THE MAIN INTERSET OF THIS SITE IS THAT ON THE MAP IT HAS EVERY APPEARANCE OF BEING A 'GREEN' VILLAGE. IN FACT, THE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE WAS A COMPACT RECTANGLE, IN WHICH THE CENTRAL PORTION HAS SHRUNK, LEAVING BUILDINGS ALL ROUND THE EDGE OF A CENTRAL OPEN AREA. {1}
