Full Description
A modern earthwork and stonework disused airfield. {1}{2}{3}
RAF Caistor, in North Kelsey parish, opened in 1941 as relief landing ground for Kirton in Lindsey. It continued in this role as a relief landing ground throughout the Second World War, serving later Manby and in 1944 Cranwell. The landing ground was closed in 1945 but reopened from 1959 to 1963 as a Thor missile base. It closed down in 1963. {4}
