Full Description

A park, presumably a sixteenth century creation is shown north of the settlement of saxton's map of 1576 and documented at least until the later seventeenth century. Its location and approx extent (some 40 ha) are confirmed by the field names grass park and little park around Park House farm. 'Snarford Hall' and 'Snarford Parke' are indicated on Ogilby's road map of 1675, with the park extending to the main Grimsby Road, encompassing the house and church, and bounded by a pale. {1}{2}
