AN INTRUSIVE BURIAL OF HUMAN REMAINS HAD BEEN MADE AT THE NORTH-WEST END OF ASH HILL LONG BARROW. THESE REMAINS WERE RADIOCARBON DATED TO THE TENTH OR ELEVENTH CENTURY, INDICTATING DEPOSITION DURING THE ANGLO-SCANDINAVIAN PERIOD. {1}
